I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University.
I am a nationally board certified and Georgia and North Carolina state licensed occupational therapist. Although I work with adults, many of my clients are children ages 0-21 years with varying challenges and special needs. Diagnoses and challenges include, but are not limited to, lip and tongue tie ties, breastfeeding challenges, torticollis, plagiocephaly, autism, ADHD, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injury, brain injury, cancer, pain management, migraines autoimmune disorders, sleep disturbances, and mental health disorders. I have experience working in therapeutic settings including home health, hospital and private clinic.
Throughout the years, I have worked with children of various ages in settings including the juvenile justice system in North Carolina, a local center for domestic violence, daycare, Sunday school classes, neonatal intensive care (NICU), pediatric intensive care (PICU), technology dependent intensive care (TICU), inpatient rehabilitation, Day Rehabilitation and private clinics. I currently hold a nationally recognized certification as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) through the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS).
My CranioSacral Therapy (CST) practice began in 2000. I have taken various CST classes through The Upledger Institute (UI) including advanced level curriculum. I am certified in CranioSacral Therapy at the Diplomate level, a UI certified mentor, a UI certified teaching assistant, and support and host study groups for practitioners who have taken CranioSacral classes through UI.
